Our ongoing scene study classes form the core of training at Berg Studios. These classes are for actors who have completed the Acting Technique Classes or Foundation Series and are ready to apply the work in a consistent, professional setting.
In class, actors work on partnered scenes, monologues, and a wide range of structured exercises to deepen their understanding of technique. As a result of this, actors apply the work directly in performance and build clarity, specificity, and truthful behavior over time.
Through ongoing training, actors build consistency, expand their range, and make strong, personal choices grounded in the work.

Best Scene Study Classes in Los Angeles
Train in one of the best scene study acting classes in Los Angeles through ongoing work.
After completing the Acting Technique classes or the online Foundation Series, we recommend the instructor and class that best fits your level. These classes meet four times per month. Your instructor guides placement and progression through Levels One and Two. Berg invites actors into Level Three at his discretion, and may do so at any stage of training.
The scene study program is structured across three levels:
Level One - Introductory Scene Study Classes with Tessa Auberjonois & Shawna Pardo
These classes are the place to start if you are relatively new to acting or want to get back to fundamentals.
Tessa Auberjonois – Sunday Scene Study
In this introductory class, actors focus on the process from script analysis to fully realized performance. Through scene work, imagination, and partner-based exercises, students develop awareness of their instincts and responsiveness. At the same time, they build a range of tools to meet different creative challenges and bring language to life with clarity and specificity.
Shawna Pardo — Tuesday Scene Study
In this class, actors explore a deeply embodied approach where imagination, movement, and inner life work together. Drawing from Stanislavski and Michael Chekhov, students discover how character emerges through physical action and psychological awareness. As a result, actors develop a more responsive and expressive instrument grounded in the body.
Level Two - Intermediate Scene Study Classes with Cam Monet & Adrian LaTourelle
These classes build upon what you have learned in Level One and the Foundation Series.
Cam Monet — Monday Scene Study Classes
In this intermediate class, actors dive deeper into the text, working with subtext, beats, and action. Through physical exploration, sound, and imagination, students build fully realized characters and make bold, informed choices. Over time, this work develops greater depth, clarity, and specificity in performance.
Adrian LaTourelle — Thursday PM Scene Study Classes
In this class, the work moves fully into the body and imagination. Building on foundational training, actors explore how text lives through their instrument. At the same time, they use script analysis and embodied exercises to develop personal, expressive choices that feel both structured and alive.
Level Three - Advanced Scene Study Classes with Gregory Berger (Berg)
In this advanced, invitation-only class with Berg, actors expand range, precision, and creative freedom. Through detailed work with language, gesture, and physical expression, they build performances that are both structured and spontaneous. Students also work creatively with music, visual art, texture, dance, and movement to develop original characters that reveal the actor’s privacy and expand their emotional and imaginative range.
We develop work in class that is later produced for public viewing. This work is then presented through solo pieces, one-person shows, theatrical productions, and short film projects—designed to highlight the program’s unique creative approach to building and realizing original work.
Level Three is by invitation and requires completion of the Acting Technique Classes or the Online Foundation Series. Entry may also occur at any stage of training at Berg’s discretion.
