Shawna Pardo’s Introductory class invites actors into a deeply embodied practice—one that asks them to move, to radiate, and to experience the imagination as a living force. The work is both physically engaging and psychologically rich, guiding actors to discover how inner life and expression arise through the body. Her teaching is rooted in the classical traditions of Konstantin Stanislavski and Michael Chekhov. “At the heart of my teaching is the belief that imagination is the primary creative force in performance. Mind, body, and feeling are inseparable. In class, we create the conditions for characters to unfold instinctively through physical action, psychological awareness, and imaginative freedom.
